Cultural Heritage Museum in Skopelos, Greece
Skopelos Museums - The Cultural Heritage Museum in Skopelos, Greece, officially known as the Museum of Cultural Heritage and Library Perseus Athineos, opened to the public in July 2008. Located in the village of Glossa, the museum is housed in a charmingly renovated stone house constructed in 1926. Boasting a breathtaking balcony overlooking the village and the sea, Glossa holds the title of the highest-altitude village in the Sporades complex. The museum’s primary goal is to preserve and showcase Skopelos’ cultural history, including its naval history, manuscripts, and personal items. The initiative to establish the museum was spearheaded by individuals passionate about their island, and it operates under the aegis of the Hellenic Foundation.
