Paros Museums - The Sculpture Museum in Paros, Greece showcases the impressive works of Nikos Perantinos, one of Greece's most celebrated sculptors from the 1930s. With its recent establishment in Marpissa village, the museum pays tribute to Perantinos' legacy and his dedication to his beloved homeland. Visitors can admire the artist's creations in marble, bronze, engraving, and drawings. Perantinos' parents hailed from the Cyclades, and he set up a workshop in Parikia to pass on the art of sculpture to the locals, using the finest marble from Paros. In recognition of his ability to infuse his works with motion and plasticity, he was awarded the prestigious Sculpture Award from the Athens Academy in 1991, shortly before his passing. Before his death, Perantinos generously donated his works to the island. The museum also offers sculpture courses during the summer in Paros and Mykonos, preserving Perantinos' artistic heritage for future generations.
