Heraklion Gorges - Rouva Gorge in Heraklion, Crete is a must-visit for adventure enthusiasts. As the most significant gorge in Psiloritis and central Crete, it boasts stunning natural formations and cliffs. With a length of 4 km, it's perfect for hiking, mountaineering, rock climbing, and wildlife observation. The forest surrounding the south entrance of the gorge is unfortunately not as lush as it used to be, having been ravaged by a major fire in 1994. Nonetheless, Rouva Gorge remains a spectacular destination for any nature lover.
