Chania Gorges - The Roka Gorge in Chania, Crete is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts. Located 32 km west of Chania in the picturesque Kolymbari area, this gorge is easily accessible from the village of Delia. The second kilometre of the gorge from the beginning is the easiest entrance to the canyon, leading to the charming village of Rock with its Byzantine fortress ruins and picturesque hill.

Hiking along the Roka Gorge is a delightful experience, taking no more than 2 hours. It is best enjoyed in early summer when the streams are still flowing. Walking through the valley, you can see many plane trees providing refreshing shade. Unfortunately, the river is dry during the summer, but the excursion route is mostly along the river.

As you approach the exit of the gorge, you will find yourself on a dirt road leading to the village of Rock and Mount Truly. The village has several cafes serving traditional dishes of the area.
