Argolida Caves - Kefalari Cave in Argolida, Peloponnese, is a historical cave located in the charming village of Kefalari, situated in the legendary Mount Haon. Over the years, this cave has been inhabited from prehistoric to historic ages. The site has been excavated, revealing fascinating findings that date back to the Neolithic period, including objects from the Stone Age. During the Turkish occupation, the cave became a safe haven for many, who formed a small community and operated a secret school within the cave walls. Kefalari Cave was also used as a place of worship for Dionysus and Pan. Nowadays, one of the caves now serves as the church of Zoodochos Pigi (Our Life-Giving Lady) of Kefalari, making the cave an essential destination for visitors.
