Arahova Churches& Monasteries - The Virgin Mary of Jerusalem Church in Arahova, Greece is a Byzantine monastery established in 1088 AD. Located near the village of Davlia, it is believed that monks from Jerusalem resided here. During the Ottoman Empire, the monks offered education, healthcare, and shelter to the families of the fighters. Unfortunately, the monastery was destroyed by both the Turks and an earthquake. Nevertheless, the church still celebrates Saint Mary's honor on August 23rd.
