Patras Monuments - The Patras Fortress, located in the Peloponnese region of Greece, was constructed by Justinian in the 6th century A.D. as a replacement for the ancient acropolis. Throughout history, the castle has proven to be a formidable defense against invaders such as the Slavs, Saracens, and Normans, who were unable to breach its walls during their siege of the city. The Patras Fortress played a vital role in stopping the invasion of the Peloponnese.
