Katakolo Lighthouse in Ilias, Peloponnese
Built in 1865, the Katakolo lighthouse, located in the region of Ilias, Peloponnese, features a 45-meter focal point and a 9-meter-tall stone tower. It has a range of 18–19 nautical miles and is French-oriented.
The reflector cabin is located at the summit of the tower, and the kitchen is the only other independent structure in the entire complex. The range of the lighthouse reflector was limited. It functioned similarly to a pendulum clock in terms of its mechanics.
The Katakolo lighthouse was declared a conserved historical monument by the Ministry of Culture. Construction and intervention in the region are forbidden.
