How To Get There

 
Rhodes has its own international airport, Diagoras Airport (RHO), which is well-connected to major cities in Europe. Many airlines offer direct flights to Rhodes from various European countries, making it convenient for travelers. During the peak tourist season, there are numerous charter flights available as well. The airport is located just 14 kilometers southwest of Rhodes Town, and transportation options from the airport to your final destination include taxis, buses, and car rentals.
If you are flying from outside of Europe, you may need to connect through a major European city before reaching Rhodes. Athens International Airport (ATH) is a common layover point for international travelers. From Athens, there are frequent domestic flights to Rhodes operated by Aegean Airlines and Olympic Air. The flight duration from Athens to Rhodes is approximately one hour.

The island has excellent ferry connections with other Greek islands as well as mainland Greece. The main port in Rhodes is located in Rhodes Town, and there are regular ferry services from Piraeus, the main port of Athens. The journey from Piraeus to Rhodes takes around 12-15 hours, depending on the type of ferry you choose. High-speed catamarans offer a faster journey time of about 8-9 hours. Apart from Piraeus, there are also ferry services available from other nearby islands such as Kos, Santorini, and Crete. These ferry routes provide an opportunity to explore multiple destinations during your trip to Greece. There are regular routes from Piraeus Port in Athens to Rhodes (4-5 times a week). As well, other islands are connected, including Kos, Patmos, Leros, Simi, and more.
