The Olympio cafe bar situated overlooking the small harbour of Makrygialos has one of the prettiest and most unusual bougainvillea's to be seen in this area of Crete.Although it is only one plant some of the flowers are a deep pink and some are white,it's amazing to see both colours on the same branch.
The bougainvillea surrounds the front of the cafe where the atmosphere is one of happy contentment.The customers-some regular holiday makers and residents of Makrigialos.sit in the shade and enjoy the view of the beach,blue sea and harbour. Of course they also enjoy the Olympio's excellent food complete with Dimitris & Hara's own friendly brand of service.
A good selection of snacks and drinks are available as well as ice creams,the tuna salad is the best to be found in Makry-Gialos.
